Momentum is a women’s centered professional sports editorial exploring the realities and cultural influence athletes have beyond their sport. It looks past the competition stats to examine race, sexuality, fashion and entrepreneurship. The magazine highlights how women build momentum, visibility, and resilience on and off the floor.
Volume 3 of Momentum explores how Black women athletes navigate identity through the intersections of race, sexuality, and gender, both within competition and beyond it. From the court and field to the track and beam, this issue examines the pressures, stereotypes, and expectations placed upon Black women in sports while highlighting the ways they reclaim visibility and self-expression on their own terms.
